Parent Forum 30th April 2015

Parental Engagement ‘Parents who are more engaged in their adolescents’ schooling, regardless of parents’ gender or educational level, have offspring who do better in school, irrespective of the child’s gender, ethnicity or family structure.’

Group Discussion What is parental engagement in students’ learning? How is this different to parental involvement with school? How can parents support their child to learn at home and at school? What barriers are there to parental engagement? What does the school do for parents?

Ready for some more? What impact can parents have within the school? How can we, as a school, equip parents with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to support their child’s learning at home? How do we get students to see school life and home life as things which do join up and are positively connected?
