What is a School-Parent Compact? Building Partnerships RHES Student-Parent Compact for 4th Grade Curriculum Night is an opportunity for you to visit your child’s classroom and obtain information about what they will be learning this year. In order to volunteer you must be approved by the school system. Contact Amy Taylor, if you are interested or go on the WSFCS website and complete the online application. Our WATCHDOG program connects mentors from our community with students. Attend PTA Events An agreement between parents, students, and teachers to work together as a team to enhance student growth and development. The parents, students and staff of Rural Hall Elementary developed this School-Parent Compact. Teachers included strategies for student success, parents made suggestions to help clarify information, and students told us what would help them learn. Each year a meeting is held to review the compact with families. Student Achievement Goals School/Teacher Responsibilities:  Create a positive and safe learning environment. Provide reading question stems. Present informative curriculum nights. Provide activities and resources for individualized instruction. Communicate with parents on a regular basis. Equip students with skills to prepare them for college and career readiness. Student Responsibilities District Goals: By 2020, 90 percent of third-grade students will read on or above grade level. By 2018, our graduation rate will be 90 percent. By 2018, we will close the achievement gap between subgroups by 10 percentage points while increasing the performance of all subgroups. School Goals: All students will show an increase of 5% on Reading EOG & DIBELS/TRC. All students will show an increase of 5% on Math EOG. 5th grade students will increase from 68% to 73% on Science EOG. Bullying incidents will decrease from 40.2 to on the student safety survey and the parent survey. Show P.R.I.D.E. Read Nightly Practice Math Facts Communicate effectively between school and home Be prepared daily and manage materials Always try your BEST!! Family Responsibilities Listen to your child read each night and question him or her using question stems provided by the teacher. Review homework each night before signing planner. Join PTA, attend curriculum nights and conferences. Encourage your child to work on i Ready Math and Reading at home. Encourage your child to strive for success.
