Available Grants and Loans There are some limited funds available to congregations. Some originate at the diocesan level, others from the “wider” church

Episcopal Partnership for Mission and Outreach “The Partnership” Episcopal Partnership for Mission and Outreach (The Partnership) partners with and empowers the people of our Diocese to fulfill the challenge of our baptismal covenant to answer God's call to respond to human needs by: Inspiring mission and outreach in partnership with every congregation Supporting congregations as they develop, initiate and maintain outreach ministries….

The Partnership Mission, cont., Raising funds to support congregational mission and outreach Sharing the mission and outreach stories of the congregations Assisting in preparing programs that provide education on the root causes of the needs to which congregations may respond with advocacy for change.

The Partnership Encourages Outreach efforts which are: Collaborative Innovative New

Applications are considered at the Diocesan Council Meetings. How to Apply http://www.partnershipwny.org/about/ Applications are considered at the Diocesan Council Meetings.

How is the Partnership Funded? THROUGH DONATIONS! Every Lent the Partnership has a “campaign.” Our funds depend on this campaign…help us out by promoting the Partnership campaign in your congregation.

The Reynolds Funds The Leah R. and Lena C. Reynolds Memorial Trust Fund directs that its income be used “with special emphasis on financial aid for the Episcopal Churches in Cattaraugus County and excluding Episcopal Community Services.” The income of the other fund, The Lena C. Reynolds Bequest, was not designated for a specific purpose. The Diocese’s Trustees decided to use it in connection with the Memorial Fund “with special emphasis on those congregations which are in the southern area of the Diocese.” The Trustees note that there is no restriction on either fund which prevents any congregation from within the entire diocese from making an application for funding.

Reynolds cont., The Trustees and the Bishop have appointed an Advisory Committee to administer this grant program and to make funding recommendations to the Trustees who will award the grants. The Advisory Committee has adopted the following funding priorities: Church Development and Growth Expansion of Mission and Outreach Starting New Ministries Collaborative Ministries There are two funding cycles each year: Applications are due December 15, with awards announced in March. Applications are due April 15, with awards announced in July.

UTO

UNITED THANK OFFERING United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of the Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through United Thank Offering, men, women, and children nurture the habit of giving daily thanks to God. These prayers of thanksgiving start when we recognize and name our many daily blessings. Those who participate in UTO discover that thankfulness leads to generosity. United Thank Offering is entrusted to promote thank offerings, to receive the offerings, and to distribute the UTO monies to support mission and ministry throughout the Episcopal Church and in invited Provinces of the Anglican Communion in the developing world.

How to apply and what is funded UTO Grant applications are usually released in December with a deadline of the following March for grant submissions. The application, a budget narrative and an endorsement letter from the diocese are needed to complete an application. When the applications are “posted” the Diocese will advertise it. The process is a little complicated, so get started early! What is funded? Building improvements to aid accessibility, capital purchases to enhance services to the disenfranchised and a lot more. Go to the UTO website for an example of what has been funded in the past . https://www.episcopalchurch.org/united-thank-offering
