Genetically Modified Foods Herbicide Tolerant Roundup Ready Sugar Beet

Herbicide Tolerant Roundup Ready Sugar Beet Pros Claim it will save the environment Genetically boosts nutrient levels in foods Give Farmers profitable/ nutritious crops Still organic farmers

Cons No labels to say if the product is GM Can cause health problems Leaves allergenic protein in the body When GMO’s are released they can’t be removed Seed companies choose to stock GMO seeds rather than traditional seeds Pesticide amount increases with GMO’’s

The goal of this GM sugar beet is to be tolerant of the herbicide glyphosate. It’s used for sugar and can be harvested yearly unlike normal beets which can only be harvested every other year.
