Unica seminar in Prague Group 4 session 2

Priorities of the students Students need space for group working, computers and space for individual work Essential role of the libraries is to provide space for social interaction, which is an important part of the academic learning process A paradox: when saving collection space because of developing e-libraries, there are needs for new kind of space - space is important Important: flexible facilities and flexible opening hours are needed - the libraries have to provide 24 hours learning space too (reading rooms, computer labs etc.)

Priorities of reseachers Researchers need more tailored services (e-repositories, data services, supporting e-research) than facilities : labs and working offices more important Essential in the future is integration of different media in the seamless knowledge environment - information is essential not the tool Libraries have to be planned for this target
