ENGLISH LITERATURE CLASS 7 ASSESSMENT CRITERIA Formative assessment : Based on class work and class activities Book of the month, Louis Sachar’s Holes and Poetry may be used as texts for formative assessment Work habits of the student – Regularity, presentation and behaviour Summative assessment: Paper 1 (NOVELS AND POETRY)– Time: 1 hour 45 minutes – 3 questions: One with 4 short answers of 60 – 80 words 20 marks each 1 textual essay 150 – 175 words 20 marks each 1 empathic task 150 – 175 words 20 marks each Marks = Total: 60 marks (75% weightage) Paper 2 (PROSE EXTRACTS) Time- 45 minutes One Question out of three questions One empathic task Passage based Textual Essay Marks = Total 20 marks ( 25% weightage)
