Write this down Joseph McCarthy Wisconsin Senator from 1947 -1957 famous for making claims that there were large numbers of Communists and Soviet spies and sympathizers inside the United States federal government and elsewhere

Write this down What is McCarthyism? Definition: campaign against alleged communists in the US government and other institutions carried out under Senator Joseph McCarthy in the period 1950–54.

House Un-American Activities Committee

Write this down H.U.A.C. Definition: House Un-American Activities Committee Definition: an investigative committee in the United States House of Representatives which was meant to look into suspected cases of subversion and disloyalty to the United States government.
