Why do we need to save and recycle water?

People are using more water and…….

Our climate is changing…

Climate change facts…. Our summers over the next 50 years are going to get sunnier and longer. Rainfall is predicted to decrease by 30 – 40% Because summer will be hotter and longer we will use more water at home and at play.

What do we use our water for at home? (Click on an item to see the % of water use.)

Waste water from these things is called ‘grey water’. You can use the water from these things again in your house with special technology. Waste water from these things is called ‘grey water’.

So what can you do to help save water?

Water saving ideas Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth. Get a ‘hippo’ for your toilet!! Have a shower instead of a bath.

A ‘hippo’ in your toilet cistern will reduce the amount of water “How am I going to fit in there?” A ‘hippo’ in your toilet cistern will reduce the amount of water used when you flush. It is an expanding pack….not a real hippo!!!
