Ensure full transparency in the process from country data to international series Reconcile national and international data compilation Improve reporting mechanisms from national to international Reduce data gaps Improve national ownership of estimates and country data adjustments Improve coordination of national reporting on MDGs Improve sub-national monitoring of the MDGs (for policy making, better allocation of resources across different population groups and regional areas). 2nd International Conference on MDG Statistics, 19-21 October 2011
