From the initial page, note the Browse Subjects list which includes Medicine and Natural Sciences – that contains basic sciences textbooks. Another excellent source of E-books for health practitioners in low-income countries is the Hesperian Health Guides. From this page, there is the option to download chapters of each book. The books are geared toward primary health care and are in several languages. Use the url at the top of the slide – to get to the Hesperian publications/downloads page. 02 May 2018

What is Global IRIS? ‘Global IRIS’, the WHO digital library, contain shared documents from HQ (Geneva), AFRO, AMRO, EURO, EMRO and SEARO. Included are the full-text of numerous published documents including policies, reports and research outcomes (equivalent of WHO e-books) PAHO and WPRO host their own instances of IRIS but their content is harvest weekly into global IRIS.
