Vocabulary Format For Social Studies 11

Vocabulary: How to do it properly ALL vocabulary MUST BE written in PEN (blue or black), PENCIL (dark) or TYPED on the COMPUTER – either way I have to be able to read it. Thoroughly define the words using your TEXTS + COURSEWORK INFO (handouts, notes + PPTs) ONLY.

Vocabulary: How to do it properly Make sure you SAY ALL THERE IS TO SAY about the term/concept/person – to garner full understanding. Work to indicate the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY AND HOW for each term (use all or as many as applicable).

Vocabulary: How to do it properly Use DETAILS/EXPLANATIONS for all words = everything that you can say about the term. Remember to SPELL OUT ACRONYMS and then DEFINE what it is.

Vocabulary: How to do it properly Use DATES + DETAILS for all words (dates where applicable = remember this is a history course!). The following format is the PROPER way to complete your vocabulary.

Vocabulary: How to do it properly NOTE: Make sure you are defining the correct term: Think: what CONTEXT are we focussed on? What topics/concepts is this term related to? (i.e. how is it related to the chapter focus?) What time period/date/place is related to this term? (if applicable)

Social Studies 11: Vocabulary Format Name Date Chapter 13 Vocabulary: Population 1. Demography: (thoroughly define using all your texts and coursework information (handouts, notes + PPTs) + who, what, when, where, why and how) 2. Census: 3. Natural Increase: 4. Rule of seventy: Etc. Remember to use your own words and do your own work - do not copy others work (plagiarism = 0)

TAKE NOTE Remember to use your own words and do your own work - do not copy others work (plagiarism = 0). Working together in or outside of class does not mean that your answers will be exactly the same = write in your own words. No one’s work should exactly resemble another persons!

Vocabulary: How to hand it in! ALL vocabulary must be printed out or written out in hard copy (paper) format with your name on it. I do not accept emailed vocabulary.

Vocabulary: How to hand it in! You will have approximately one week to complete your vocabulary. There will be some class time but the majority of work will be done outside of class. Hand in your vocabulary in on the due date.
