International Telecommunication Advisory Committee (ITAC) advises the Department of State with respect to telecommunications and information policy matters, develops and coordinates proposed contributions to international meetings1 as U.S. contributions, and advises the Department on other matters to be undertaken by the U.S. at these international meetings. Members are drawn from U.S. government agencies, recognized operating agencies, scientific or industrial orgs. and representatives of any other entity with an interest in the telecommunications sector. 1 ITU, CITEL, OECD, APEC-TEL

Processes of US ITAC ITAC email list for convenient communications (not for publication) Official business takes place in meetings (typically, quarterly) Meeting announcements are on website, distributed to email list and announced in the Federal Register ITAC meetings are open to the public

Coordination functions of DoS Preparation for international meetings, including developing national positions, contributions and representation Heading national delegations Representing the Member State Delegation management policies Reporting after the international meeting Authorizing requests to join ITU‑T by private sector entities Authorizing requests for a TIES account
