What are Constructive and Destructive Forces? Jazz Slappey Ms.Carter 5th Grade December 1, 2015

What are Constructive Forces? Constructive Forces are processes that help build or construct the Earth. Constructive forces can deposit soil or silt in a river. There are 3 main constructive forces: Crustal Deformation, Deposition of Sediment, and Volcanic Eruptions.

What are Destructive Forces? Destructive forces break the Earth down. Earthquakes, volcanoes, and rivers are examples of active destructive forces.

Niagara Falls (Constructive Force) How was Niagara Falls formed? Towards the end of the Ice Age, melting ice drained down the Niagara River, causing the Niagara Falls to form.

Stone Mountain (Constructive Force) How did Stone Mountain form? Stone Mountain was created by magma that formed deep in the Earth and forced itself out of the molten center.

Grand Canyon (Destructive Force) How was the Grand Canyon formed? Erosion caused by the Colorado River helped carve the Grand Canyon.

Waimea Canyon (Destructive Force) How was the Waimea Canyon formed? The Waimea Canyon was carved by rivers that ran from Mount Waialeale at the middle of the Kauai Island.

THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!
