Scheduling for the Senior Year Request additional electives. You must carry at least 2.5 credits each semester; total of 5.0 minimum credits for the year. Cannot sign up for Titan Aide credit or independent study at this time.

Late Arrival/Early Release – you may request EITHER late arrival or early release each semester. Polaris Career Center You will attend Polaris during the afternoon next year. You need to request three credits at BMHS: 1.0 of English 1.0 of Math 1.0 of science or social studies These will vary due to embedded academic credits in certain programs. Please see your counselor if you have questions!

Maintain an overall grade point average of at least 3.5 on a four-point scale, through the first semester of the senior year. Obtain a composite score of 27 on the ACT or a total score of 1210 on the SAT. Achieve proficiency benchmark established for Ohio Career-Technical Competency Assessment or equivalent.

Eligibility (p. 3) Students must pass 2.5 credits each grading period with a minimum gpa of 2.0. Eligibility is determined each grading period using quarter grades. Exam and semester grades do not impact eligibility. *For 2018 – 2019, the district will have a probationary status for students with a quarter gpa between 1.5 and 1.99. This will allow the student to remain eligible through an academic contract.

NCAA Division I/II College Eligibility Rules (p.11) Students who wish to participate in Division I/II intercollegiate athletics as freshmen or receive athletic grant-in-aid scholarships must meet specific criteria Approved courses will have a “(NCAA Course)” after course description Will need to register with the NCAA Clearinghouse towards end of junior year

College Credit Plus Program (p.5) Take college classes and earn high school and college credit at the same time Classes will be offered here and at local college campuses If you are currently taking courses through the program and wish to continue next year, you still must submit the Intent to Participate form and a transcript request by April 1st !!! If you wish to take placement tests in our building, you must complete the Intent form AND an application by February 1st!

End of Course Exams and Graduation Points Students must take 7 end of course exams: ELA 1, ELA 2: must earn a minimum of 4 points total. Algebra 1, Geometry: must earn a minimum of 4 points total. Biology, US History, Government: must earn a minimum of 6 points total. Each test is scored 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest). Four additional points are required from any area to reach a total of 18 points.

MYAP – What is it? Academic Planner The Academic Planner displays the student's assigned Academic Program and the courses the student has planned to take in each school year (represented by grade level). Teachers and Counselors have a similar view to this that allows them to see your chosen courses and make modifications, if necessary. Based on the assigned Academic Program, students must meet credit requirements, course requirements, test requirements and GPA requirements. The goal is to meet each requirement for each grade level.

Select an Academic Program When first accessing the Academic Planner, you will see the uploaded Academic Plan in the dropdown list. All students have been mass assigned the BMHS regular diploma and In-State as the desired Post Grad Location(where you are going to attend college) and your Post Grad Plans. For purposes of course selection, the Academic Plan is hard coded but can be changed by counselor. Click the Next button when finished. Search or Add Courses from the Course Catalog. The Course Catalog can be used to locate courses that would be of interest to you. If you know the name of the course, enter that name in the field, or a partial name. Matching results display. When a course is chosen, a description displays, providing more information about the curriculum of the course, any planning rules set for the course, total number of credits given, course fees (if any), and an option to add that course to the plan. • Courses can only be added for grade levels that have related credit requirements. • Courses can only be added if you/your student has not previously taken the course. • Courses can only be added if it is not currently on the plan. If your counselor or administrator has created course plan templates, some courses may already be on your course plan.

Course Catalog Searching If this is the course you'd like to take, click the Add to Grade button. Courses can be added to any future grade level. This places the course on your plan in the indicated grade level for that credit type. Add Courses- Recommended Method of Course Selection Click in the text box below the number of credits for a certain grade level. Courses meeting that credit type display for selection. Choose the desired course(s). When they are added, they display and the number of credits is updated. The credits assigned to a course appear after the course name. Add enough credits for future years as needed. When the student has met the number of requirements, the alert that displays for each credit type stating not enough credits are selected disappears. Repeat these steps for each credit type. At the end of the process, you should have a clear idea of what courses he will be taking in each grade level. Click the Save icon when finished.

Add Non-Credit Courses to the Plan Adding non-credit courses are done the same way as entering other courses.

Print Course Plan Report To print a copy of your course plan, click the Course Plan Report button at the top of the Academic Planner. A PDF view of your course plan displays, including Non-credit Course selections. Only saved entries on the course plan are printed. If you added a course but did not save, and clicked print, the new course you added is not included in the print.
