Children in Germany receive a special gift at the beginning of the school year. It is a cone called Schultüte filled with pens, pencils, books, toys, and snacks.

Students in Japan are extremely independent Students in Japan are extremely independent. Children as young as primary school students travel to school alone using public transportation, clean their own classrooms and even carry lunch.

In Holland, children start school on the day they turn 4, which means that there's always someone new in the class.

A forest kindergarten can be described as a kindergarten “without a ceiling or walls".  It is a type of a preschool for children between 3 and 6. Whatever the weather, children play, explore and learn in a forest or other natural environment.
