Acts of the Apostles Pentecost is described in the Acts of the Apostles Jesus foretold the coming of the Spirit when he said to the disciples, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (1:8)

Acts of the Apostles “When the day of Pentecost had come, [the disciples] were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a great sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.”
