Ways to Use the Mouse The pointer Single-click Double-click Press Press-and-drag

The Pointer As you move the mouse, the pointer moves. The pointer’s active spot is the very tip. You must make sure the very tip is on the spot you want to activate.

Clicking and Pressing Single-click = one quick click Double-click = two quick clicks Press = point & hold down the mouse button Press-and-drag = press the mouse button down and hold down while dragging

Single-click to select an icon an application or document in the Dock to open the application or document

Double-click on an application or document to open it if it is not in the dock on a folder icon to open the window for that folder

Press on arrows in a scroll bar to scroll through the window on items in the dock to see their menus

Press-and-drag to move icons across the screen
