Qualitative and quantitative approaches to provide a more comprehensive picture on program effectiveness. Core focal areas: Awareness and understanding of CAOCL’s RCLF Program Marine response to culture general concepts and skills and specific learning materials The impact of CAOCL’s training and education programs on Marine effectiveness in the field Field research (interviews, observation, learning interventions) to capture Marine experiences and judgement pre- and post-deployment. Pilot of survey tool to be used to capture long-term trends in awareness and use over time. 7th Marines project Is currently in process – data analysis is ongoing Pilot Survey (yielded expected low response rate for pilot) but was informative for improving tool for next round; provided immediate programmatic feedback and a repeatable process to capture trends over time Conducted first round of interviews (~60) and focus groups at the start of the predeployment work-up; intend to conduct two more rounds – one before deployment and one following
