Examples of Subordinate Conjunctions: Adverb Clauses: Include both a noun and a verb but cannot stand alone as their own sentence. They tell how, when, where, why & to what extent. Adverb clauses must always begin with a  subordinating conjunction. Examples of Subordinate Conjunctions: After Although As long as As soon as Because Since Than Though Unless Until When Wherever Where Whether While Before Even though If Rather than Once

Adverb Clause Rules Adverb clauses can be moved and sometimes removed. Only use a comma if the adverb clause begins the sentence. Examples: Sandra felt better after eating a snack.
