The Human Body: What’s inside your body? By: Kiacia Hicks

How does your body get blood and food? The Circulatory System or cardiovascular system is an organ system that circulates blood and nutrients to and from cells.

Integumentary System This system consists of the outer covering of the body. It is formed of hair, skin, and nails. The system provides a barrier against infections and helps protect the internal body parts from damage.

Muscular System Layers of muscle that cover the bones, extend across joints, and contract and relax to make movements.

Skeletal System This system consists of flexible bone and connective tissue. It provides support and protection.

Nervous System The Nervous System is the body’s main control system. It has the brain, spinal cord, and nerves that go outside the body.

Lymphatic System The Lymphatic System is made up of vessels that collects fluid from tissues and send it back to blood. It protects against infection.

Respiratory System The respiratory has the lungs that which uses oxygen to breathe and carbon dioxide to release it from the body.

Endocrine System This system performs many body functions. Chemicals release in the body to help produce growth and energy, which are regulated by hormones.

Digestive System This system takes in the food we need in our body which produces energy. Food is broken down into nutrients that go into the blood.

Urinary System The Urinary System produces waste that exits the body through urination.

Reproduction System The male and female parts are in this system. Sperm and cells are produced in this system to form an embryo.
