Litter in our Environment What is a solution to this problem?

The litter in this picture includes a plastic milk jug (recyclable) a butter box- waxed cardboard (trash), fishing net (just to the right back of the milk jug), assorted plastic wrappers- all trash. The trash at the beach has a special impact because of how it affects the animals. Picture Credit: Simpson, L. (2010). Beach Trash_1. [Digital Image]. Retrieved from personal photo data base.

The bleach bottle is recyclable The bleach bottle is recyclable. There is a black piece of trash behind the bleach bottle (motor oil additive?). It would be interesting to hear what Kindergarteners thought it was. Photograph Credit: Simpson, L. (2010). Beach Trash_2. [Digital Image]. Retrieved from personal photo data base.

The litter in this picture includes plastic water bottles (recyclable), a soda can (recyclable) plastic wrappers, and pull tabs from water bottles (trash). Photograph Credit: Venegas, A. (2010). Park Trash_1. [Digital Image]. Retrieved from personal photo data base.

Litter in this picture includes a used tissue (trash), a plastic snack bag (trash), and the paper wrapper from a candy bar (recyclable). Photograph Credit: Venegas, A. (2010). Park Trash_2. [Digital Image]. Retrieved from personal photo data base.

The litter in this picture includes a plastic wrapper at the far left (trash), three paper products in the front (recyclable), and a plastic wrapper just behind the cup (trash). Photograph Credit: Venegas, A. (2010). Park Trash_3. [Digital Image]. Retrieved from personal photo data base.

The seaweed in this picture is not litter, but it could be gathered and composted (in a perfect world). The Mylar balloon in the front is trash and a real threat to marine life. There is an assortment of other trash in this picture- a plastic water bottle (recyclable), an aluminum can (at the top of the photo) (recyclable), and other trash intermingled with the seaweed.
