Lessons Learned: if at first you don’t succeed... First Tries: Supplemental Instruction in developmental levels Students did not access outside of class hours Most needy students least likely to access (identity/cultural conflicts) Applied Academics Unsustainable with currently available resources Next Attempts: Embedded academic support “Push-in” model: during class time, intrusive, reduced affective threshold Just-in-time, contextualized remediation = high face validity Alternative contextualized model TBD

Intake & Supports: Forging Linkages Now: Work-in-Progress: Reg2Go Multiple measures pilot Increased placement into transfer English High School curriculum alignment pilot, OUHSD Math Boot Camp pilot Data Exchange summit Multiple measures collaboration English co-requisite pilot Math Boot Camp expansion Dual Enrollment Career Pathways Pilot embedded supports in developmental levels

Next Steps on the Path(way) Immediate Challenges Promising Responses Faculty buy-in -> ownership of Program Structure + Instruction Coordination across institution Initiatives building awareness, education and dialogue Leveraging existing collaborative structures, resources
