What is Landscape Design? Landscape design is an independent profession and a design and art tradition, practiced by landscape designers, combining nature and culture. In contemporary practice, landscape design bridges the space between landscape architecture and garden design. Landscape design focuses on both the integrated master landscape planning of a property and the specific garden design of landscape elements and plants within it. Institutional education in landscape design appeared in the early 20th century. Mobile No | - |

Scope of Landscape Design  Landscape design focuses on both the planning of a property and the specific garden design of certain landscape elements and plants within it.  Landscape design is also the art and process of designing and creating plans of the layout and planting of gardens.  Landscape design is an independent profession as well as a design and art tradition practiced by landscape designers by combining nature and culture. Landscape Design Elements  Color- In landscape design, color is crucial. Color brings a garden to life by adding dimension and interest. It can be added with plant material or hardscapes, such as paving, walls or fences.  Line- Often line refers to the structures within a landscape—think of the edges of a walkway or flower bed, or the perimeter of a patio or deck.  Texture- Generally texture is added to a garden with plants. However, texture can also be created using hardscape materials.  Form- The shape or structure of a plant or object is its form. What forms are used is dependent on the landscape design theme.  Scale- In outdoor design, scale refers to the size relationship between elements within the garden and the surrounding spaces.
