Scaldit: Action Plan 5. Up to the IRBMP day to day running reporting to the Interreg secretariat (twice a year) evaluation project preparation new project proposal (measures & IRBMP) Results: Project co-ordination 4 activity reports and payment claims Pilot River Basin workshop, Ghent, 4-5 October 2004

Risk factors and advantages related to transnational co-operation Language barrier (French-Dutch in case of Scheldt PRB) Data availability and comparability Consultation needed on 2 levels: internally between partners ISC constitutes political basis for decisions  complicates taking of decisions Risk factors: time-consuming, cost-raising, difficult to harmonise approaches/methods Advantages: agreements reached are solid basis for further work, complementarity between methods of partners Pilot River Basin workshop, Ghent, 4-5 October 2004

Importance of Interreg funding Enables intensive transnational co-operation: 20 FTEs from 3 countries (5 regions) working on the Scaldit project Enables an increased level of communication of dissemination of information on the level of the RBD Incites the project partners to work towards concrete outputs and within a given timeframe Enables to have a clear view on the costs of transnational co-operation Pilot River Basin workshop, Ghent, 4-5 October 2004

Conclusions Co-operation between riparian Scheldt regions increased substantially thanks to the project. The Scaldit project will provide a solid base for future co-operation and measures in the Scheldt RBD. Pilot River Basin workshop, Ghent, 4-5 October 2004
