3 The project focuses on the transition from School to Work, of HE SwD especially in reference:
(i) to the three key components that are essential for the development of the transition process: (a) higher education based learning; (b) work based learning; (c) connecting Higher Education and Work; and (ii) the results of the three TEMPUS projects "Equal Access for All -Strengthening the Social Dimension for a Stronger European Higher Education Area” in RS and “Support and Inclusion of SwDs at Higher Education in Montenegro” in ME and “Equal Opportunities for Students With Special Needs in Higher Education” in BiH.

4 Main objectives Upgrade and prepare HEIs services to support SwD to their transition from HE to Work following the EU policies, Link Higher Education to “disability friendly” work environments, Assimilate transition opportunities and skills with EU practices and policies and Prepare employers on understanding the needs of employees with disabilities in order to offer new jobs.

5 Specific objectives Identify and analyse the needs of employers and students with disabilities •Create a web based tool that will help (a) employers to identify suitable people to fill specific positions and it will be designed to account for special requirements needed by employers and (b) SwD to identify their interests and educational needs Create of a portal that will electronically connect employers, individuals with disabilities and the person in each partner country responsible for the development of educational programs for individuals with disabilities •Inform stakeholders through seminars and workshops, distribution of booklets and/or electronic material regarding the use of the platform and its operation •Train (a) teaching staff, (b) employers and (b) SwD to manage their career •Strengthen the role of career centers and establishing the role of mentors •Raise awareness of employers regarding the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities. •Raise awareness and motivation towards transition and increase the number of HE SwD involved in world of work

8 Major Milestones The major milestones of the project are:
1. The needs of employers in regard to the qualifications of workforce will be identified. 2. The educational needs of IwD will be identified. 3. Shortcomings in the existing programs of training will be identified. 4. The planning of programs that correspond to the above mentioned needs of employers and IwD will be promoted. 5. The labor mobility of IwD between the participating countries will be promoted. 6. Awareness will be raised among employers as to the benefits of employing IwD.

9 Project Activities & Methodology
The project is divided into 6 phases Preparation, Development Quality Plan Dissemination Exploitation & Sustainability Management All identified project activities within those phases are divided into respective Work Packages (WPs).

10 Preparation The preparation aims:
(a) Research on a sample of employers in all participating countries, to identify the needs of employers and desired qualifications needed, and (b) Research on a sample of IwD in partner countries to ascertain the educational needs of IwD The WP1 is the basis for the development of WP2 where the findings of the research we will create a tool that (a) will help employers identify suitable people to fill specific positions taking into account the special requirements needed by employers and (b) will help IwD to identify their interests and educational needs

12 Development The WPs under Development follow the three key components that are essential for the development of the transition process: connecting Higher Education and Work (WP2, WP4, WP5) work based learning (WP3, WP4, WP5) higher education based learning (WP3, WP4, WP5)

Title: Connecting HE with Work for students with disabilities DEV2.1 Web based tool for employers DEV2.2 Web based tool for IwDs DEV2.3 Piloting the web based tools WP3 DEVELOPMENT Title: Higher Education and Work based learning DEV3.1 Transition support services at HEIs DEV3.2 Development of internship program for SwD DEV3.3 Design recruitment guidelines for employers opening positions for students/university graduates with disabilities WP4 DEVELOPMENT Title: Training university and non university staff to support SwD towards transition DEV4.1 Training of academic/ teaching staff (who are in charge for Practice work) DEV4.2 Training of employers DEV4.3 Training of transition mentors DEV4.4 Training SwD (to manage their career, develop project, learn about project management, etc.) DEV4.5 Evaluation of the training WP5 DEVELOPMENT Title: Piloting and evaluating at partner universities and employers DEV5.1 Monitoring and piloting the strategy and plan of the companies DEV5.2 Monitoring and piloting the transition services DEV5.3 Piloting the training effects and impact DEV5.4 Monitoring and piloting the effect and impact of data base and website

14 Quality Control & Monitoring
Quality Control and Monitoring (QCM) of project activities and results will be realized for all activities continuously throughout the whole duration of the project so that the short time monitoring could help to improve next activities. Project Steering Committee (PSC) consisting from leading partners of WPs and with the coordination of DEKRA will be responsible (a) for monitoring work plan realization and internal QCM of project activities and results and (b) for preventing the time lag in project activities and taking immediate actions in the form of consultations. External quality control and monitoring of the main project results will be assessed by the EU HEIs and an external expert from an EU Country by comparing project outcomes with existing EU counterparts, based on the EU policy standards and taking into account the specificity of partner countries HEIs. External evaluator will also take into account intermediate reports by PSC and RSC. PSC will coordinate the work of RSC, and both of them will report annually

16 Dissemination & Exploitation
Dissemination and exploitation of project’s outcomes and results are considered as key actions for the successful completion of the project. The main target groups of the project will be: •Individuals with disabilities •Enterprises offering work to individuals with disabilities •Governmental organizations and policy makers for education and training of SwDs •Academic community (Universities, Schools, Rehabilitation Institutes)

19 EXP8.4 Creation and Use of Accessible Data base
Sustainability The proposed project will lead to the creation of an accessible data base, which will be designed to specifically accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities and their employment. Employers will identify positions that are open and available for individuals with disabilities. They will also complete a structured form which will state the qualifications that an individual with disability should have to be hired in this position. In addition, individuals with disability will enter the web portal and their training needs will be identified and will be matched with available employment opportunities. The portal will aid in the planning of training programs for individuals with disabilities in each of the target countries

Enhance transition skills of SwD during their studies Raise awareness of families that have a child with disability concerning its future development in the labor market Raise awareness to employers concerning disability issues Electronic index of all stakeholders in the region Exchange of experience on employment issues Accessible data base
