Pass, merit and distinction awards: new to this year You will be awarded either a pass, merit or distinction grade based on your achievements throughout the year; Merit tasks require greater effort than pass tasks, and distinction tasks require greater effort than merit tasks; You MUST complete the pass task before you can be awarded a merit task and a merit task before you can be awarded a distinction mark. To be awarded with a distinction, you must complete ALL distinction tasks

LRS Elite Leadership Academy Nationwide you will: Be a role model for sport in school/college, local Leadership Academy and sports club; Get involved in a range of volunteering events and opportunities; LRS Elite Leadership Academy Platinum Ambassador (Yr 13) Gold Ambassador (Yr 12) Secondary and Silver Ambassador (Yr 7-11) Bronze Ambassador (Yr 5-6) Inspire other young people to volunteer in sport; Promote the positive benefits and values of sport; and Volunteer a minimum of 10 hours in a community sport setting.

What are the characteristics of a good leader? Here are a few examples of a good leader. Can you think of a good leader (can be sporting or non-sporting) and tell me the characteristics that make them a good leader? There are 7 Olympic and Paralympic Games values, which all these leaders consider at all times when leading and working with others.

Olympic values: Friendship Respect Excellence Bronze turn to page 5 in your booklets – you can fill this part of your booklet out as you go along. Does anybody know the names of any of the 3 Olympic values? Can anyone give me a description of what each of these values mean – and give an example of how this value can be used in sport? Friendship: Wanting the best for someone and for them to succeed Being honest and truthful to yourself and others Being dependable Sharing of common interests and goals Being understanding and non-judgemental Putting other people first Mutual respect Supporting and cooperating with others Empathy and compassion Treating each other equally Respect: Being considerate towards other people and their feelings Keeping an open mind and being non-judgemental Being reliable and honest Looking after your own body and health Showing consideration eg. For others, ones health Admiring or having a high opinion of something or someone To abide by or accept something or someone eg. Rules Demonstrated via language, behaviour and actions Excellence Having a commitment to something Showing dedication Doing the best you can Achieving goals Aiming high and having high expectations of yourself Taking part and making progress Exceeding in something Possessing good qualities Striving for high standards Encouraging others to reach their potential. Paralympic values: Inspiration Courage Equality Determination Does anybody know the names of any of the 4 Paralympic values? Can anyone give me a description of what each of these values mean – and give an example of how this value can be used in sport? Goals On page 4, please write down 5 goals you would like to achieve this year These should be SMART goals; Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-phrased. Please turn to page 4 of your booklet Here, you will find that I have left you space to write 5 goals for the year. Please fill these out, and we will share some of our goals with each other. Make sure these goals are SMART.
