Attention Grabber Digital Natives (your students) like and use technology. You show you can teach them the way THEY like and need to be taught by using PowerPoint. Digital Natives tend to get bored and have a need for the teacher to WOW them. Uses for PPT
Notes To catch the attention of the Digital Natives. Gives visual/verbal connection Satisfies many modification requirements Print out notes for mods To have available for absent students Uses for PPT
List Daily Tasks Keep a PowerPoint going at the beginning of class stating what’s on the agenda for today PowerPoint scrolls while students are doing their warm-up Uses for PPT
Announcements & Due Dates Announcements scroll during class telling students the important dates coming up Announce due dates, test dates, events, etc. Uses for PPT
Web Quests Place Web Quest in student folder and students can access to access additional resources for a particular unit which is “predefined” by YOU. As an exercise For vocabulary w/ links to notes, text, review, etc. Uses for PPT
Visual w/ Video You can show a demo of a project Video yourself giving directions Read to students Put visual to words Have students explain concepts in their own words. Uses for PPT
Warm-Up Have a PowerPoint ready with Warm-Up going to get students busy when they enter class Warm-Up Ideas: TAKS Questions SAT Vocabulary Spelling Grammar – sentences w/ incorrect grammar Punctuation – sentences w/ inaccurate punctuation.

Views Slides and Recorded Timings Normal Slide Sorter Slide Show Notes notes for presenter SLIDE MASTER Change all slides at once Grids and Guides How elements are aligned Notes Ex. On the notes page you will see that there is a place for notes. These might be used for instructor or students depending on if you print them with “Notes”
