Agriculture cultivation of animals, plants, fungi, and other life forms for food, fiber, biofuel and other products used to sustain life.

Agricultural Education Components

Supervised Agricultural Experience The purpose of the SAE is to gain work experience in agriculture and build life skills. SAE is a project completed outside of class time that deals with any division of agriculture: Plants Animals Agriculture business Agriculture based science experiments

The art or practice of garden cultivation and management Horticulture The art or practice of garden cultivation and management

Unit A: Leadership, Careers, and SAE Examine leadership opportunities related to the horticulture industry. Discuss the organization available for students in horticulture. Demonstrate parliamentary procedures and public speaking used in horticulture business meetings. Examine careers related to horticulture. Discuss careers and skills necessary for employment in the horticulture industry. Implement an SAE.
