F N NUMBER A 4th Grade Mac Lesson

BIG NUMBERS. That’s what fourth grade is all about. You need to know how to write them in standard form, word form, and even expanded form! This game will help you brush up on your word form skills… and it will be fun, too!

First, you will need to set up your paper First, you will need to set up your paper. Number from 1 to 5 leaving three spaces between each number. Then, next to each number, draw blanks like this: __ __ __ , __ __ __ _ _ _ , _ _ _ 5. _ _ _ , _ _ _

Next, you will use your spinner to come up with a number Next, you will use your spinner to come up with a number. Spin six times to fill in the blanks on your paper. _ _ _ , _ _ _ 5. _ _ _ , _ _ _ 5 0 1 2 4 3

Now we’ll let the computer tell us if we’re right! Write your number in word form below the standard form number… and then comes the fun part! _ _ _ , _ _ _ 5. _ _ _ , _ _ _ 5 0 1 2 4 3 Now we’ll let the computer tell us if we’re right! Five hundred one thousand, two hundred forty-three.

Type your standard form number into Text Edit, remembering to include the comma. Then go to Edit and Speech and Start Speaking. The computer will tell you what your word form SHOULD say! Five hundred one thousand two hundred forty three 501, 243

Now it’s your turn… Have fun!
