The basics NetmapWEB basic functionality

Web Client Features
Basic Navigation Zooming Zooming can be performed with the “Zoom in mode” / “Zoom out mode” icons Execute a single click or drag a box
Basic Navigation….. Zooming Zooming in can also be done in “Select Mode” by holding down Ctrl button and dragging a box Ctrl + Shift and drag a box to zoom out
Basic Navigation….. Panning Panning can either be done by using “Pan Mode” to drag the map or by using the grey pointers at the edge of the map
Window options Various panes can be resized, collapsed and expanded using the slider controls on window borders. Try maximising the map view by hiding all other panes
Object selection Use “Select Mode” Click to select individual object Drag a box to do a multi-select Object selection may result in multiple results in the Object Lister pane
Object Selection Results Object selection listed in the Object Lister pane: First object will be shown in the Object Details tab:
Selection Mode options File > Options > Replace Selection Use View > Clear Selection to clear the map
Using the trail Used to measure distances and areas Tools > Trail or switch to the Measure tab Place trail points on the map to define a trail
Layers Equivalent to Themes in the old system Select Tools > Layers to make visible the layers widget: Note layers may vary depending on which area you are viewing Toggle Layers on and off Wait for the system to redraw the map
Accessing Supplementals Anywhere on the map, select the Supplemental Diagrams button to list the supplementals found in that area
Accessing Supplementals The Object Lister in the lower half of the window will then show the RMS Rasters and RMS Supplementary Rasters found:

Searching On the Addresses tab Enter available address information Hit Search Results displayed in the Object Lister Fields support use of wildcard (*) character for address matching

Searching Asset Search Each asset search presents pre-set fields to search on, e.g., EHV Pole number:
Searching Asset Search Wildcard character supported, returns multiple results matching the search criteria
Object Lister Object Lister shows search results:
Object Lister Use controls to step through results Select, highlight and go to a search result
Grid reference features Hold down Shift key and click on the map to capture (copy to Windows clipboard) the grid reference value under the click
Grid reference features Dynamic display of OS Grid Reference Displayed in bottom right hand corner of the map Value updates as you move cursor over the map
Plotting Print to File vs Plot Print to File tab for simple plots launched in a separate browser window Plot tab allows you to build more complex plot jobs ( e.g., multiple pages) and plot directly to nominated device
Print to File Launched from the Print to File icon or visit the Print to File tab Select a Layout (plot template), scale and rotation and hit the print button PDF plot launches in new browser window
The Plot tab Manipulate frame(s) Apply changes Click Plot icon to generate plot job Select “Refresh Job Status” to see the progress of the plot
The Plot tab Use New Frame to add additional frames Multiple frames aligned along an asset – build a “plot series” Hit “Plot” Plots can take a while to generate – be patient!
The Plot tab Supply a value to Title and Title 2 to be displayed on the plot Select from the available plot templates Supplemental and X-section diagrams plotted as pages 2-n of every plot
The Plot tab Use “Refresh Job Status” Click plot pages link once the job has been created Job pages then shown in the Job Pages section
Manipulating plot frames While on the Plot tab, hover the mouse pointer over the rotate control on a plot frame: Cursor will update, allowing you to rotate the frame with a mouse drag

LPN Specific - Navigating to SRCs SRC record is present in the Object Details tab Select the Go To button Map shows the SRC record
LPN Specific - Navigating to SRCs Select a Supply Point record Navigate the join to an associated SRC (Raster, Vector) by clicking the Relationship(1) link
LPN Specific - Plotting SRCs Select a Supply Point record in the map Supply Point record is sent to the Object Details pane
LPN Specific - Plotting SRCs Supply Point provides a Plot SRC Record icon Click to plot the SRC The SRC launches as a PDF document in a separate browser window
