MACHINE DETECTOR INTERFACE WORKING GROUP STATUS Presented by Lau Gatignon PRESENT STATUS An action plan was defined and agreed. Involves many other working groups! A first design exists for QD0 A short prototype is being prepared A detector layout exists for CLIC-SiD A layout for CLIC-ILD is well under way This includes QD0 integration Almost weekly dedicated meetings We are working with L* = 3.8 or 6 m This is compatible with push-pull A layout exists for the spent beam line, which is being refined. Background studies ongoing. An agreement has been found with E1N/STI for the dump The stage has now been set for dedicated stabilisation studies for the final doublet Work and discussions are ongoing concerning vacuum, backgrounds, IP feedback, vibrations,… CTC meeting 23-02-2010 MDI Status, reported by LG

MDI Status, reported by LG MILESTONES AND DELIVERABLES FOR 2010 Complete QD0 integration studies, also for CLIC-ILD. Include IP feedback, luminosity instrumentation, stabilisation and prealignment equipment. Push-pull to be included. Construction of short QD0 prototype, measurements on field quality, vibrations, mechanical stability, etcetera QD0 stabilisation feasibility studies based on latest QD0 and detector design. Better understanding of interplay with various feedback and feed-forward systems. Hope to get more vibration and ground motion measurements (e.g. correlated) Refine vacuum requirements and work towards technical solutions Continued studies of backgrounds in collaboration with spent beam group (n, g), LCD, Collimation and other WG Evaluate impact on MDI and spent beam of different crossing angle at 500 GeV Start studies on radiation and shielding issues Provide relevant input to CES working group Try to collect information on cost wherever possible Complete the MDI chapter for the CDR Formalised collaboration with ILC-MDI/BDS Note: the items in red are the most urgent ones CTC meeting 23-02-2010 MDI Status, reported by LG
