Who am I? 3rd grade Famous Americans After each clue is read, hold up the name of the person you think is being described.

Who Am I? I was born a slave in Maryland in 1818. I taught myself to read. I escaped slavery and went to New York.

Frederick Douglass

Who Am I? I was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1735. I was a member of the Sons of Liberty, which was a secret society of American Patriots.

Paul Revere

Who Am I? I was born in 1875 in South Carolina. I was a teacher who fought for civil and women’s rights.

Mary McLeod Bethune

Who Am I? I was born in 1820 in Massachusetts. I traveled to New York and Washington, DC, to speak about women’s suffrage.

Susan B. Anthony

Who Am I? I was born in New York City, New York in 1884. In 1933, I became the First Lady (because I was married to the President).
