GMA 350 Features Virtual 3-D Audio- This feature makes it easier for the pilot to listen to multiple audio sources at once. Visit http://www.garmin.com/3daudio for a 3-D Audio demonstration. Advanced Auto Squelch- Squelch control has been radically redesigned and automatically adapts to a quiet or noisy cockpit without clipping words or cutting out in the middle of phrases. Distribute Audio Around the Cockpit- With “blue-select mode” you choose who has access to each audio source. Copilot /Pilot can listen to SiriusXM while passengers listen to their own music source, fully uninterrupted. Split-COM Mode- Allow pilot and copilot to transmit on two different radios at the same time. Automatic Digital Voice Recorder- Captures the last 2.5 minutes of radio transmission for playback. Automatic Power Up- When the avionics master is turned on, the audio panel will automatically start up. There is no on-off switch to leave in the wrong position. Fail Safe Mode- If power is lost to the audio panel, the pilot is still able to transmit and receive on COM 1.

Controls MKR/MUTE- Selects marker beacon receiver audio. Mutes the currently received marker beacon receiver audio. Stops play of recorded COM audio (PLAY feature) Com1-When selected, audio from the #1 COM receiver can be heard. Press and hold to enable/disable monitored COM muting during primary COM reception. (COM 1 will mute during COM 2 reception when enabled) An audio annunciation will indicate when “enabled” or “disabled” COM2-When selected, audio from the #2 COM receiver can be heard. Press and hold to enable/disable monitored COM muting during primary COM reception. (COM 2 will mute during COM 1 reception when enabled) An audio annunciation will indicate when “enabled” or “disabled” NAV1-When selected, audio from the #1NAV receiver can be heard. NAV2-When selected, audio from the #2 NAV receiver can be heard

Controls Selects and deselects audio from a telephone or entertainment device connected to the Front Panel Jack. Audio from a telephone connected to the rear of the audio panel (Iridium SAT GSR 56 equipped airplanes) is used if a device is not connected to the Front Panel Jack. Caution: If an audio device is plugged into the front jack, this will disable the rear connection (Iridium phone). Press and hold to enable/disable muting during reception. An audio annunciation will indicate when muting is “enabled” or “disabled”. MUS1- Selects and deselects music entertainment audio. MUS1 is the audio jack located in the armrest (center console). If no audio is plugged into that jack, SiriusXM radio is heard. Press and hold to enable/disable muting during reception. An audio annunciation will indicate when muting is “enabled” or “disabled”. MUS2- Selects and deselects music entertainment audio. MUS2 is the audio jack located on the rear of the center console for passengers in the back. If no audio is plugged into that jack, SiriusXM radio is heard, Press and hold to enable/disable muting during reception. An audio annunciation will indicate when muting is “enabled” or “disabled”. MAN SQ- Manual squelch annunciator. When lit, squelch is controlled manually by rotating the inside control knob. The volume display will indicate the squelch level. Press MAN SQ again to return to automatic squelch. Volume Indicator- Indicates volume/squelch setting relative to full scale. Volume control will correspond to whatever indicator is currently selected (flashing). To adjust the volume of a different audio source, turn the outside knob to move the cursor.

Controls MIC1- Selects the #1 transmitter for transmitting. (Talk on COM1, frequency turns “Green”) COM1 receive is simultaneously selected when this key is pressed allowing received audio from #1 COM receiver to be heard. COM 2 receive can be added by pressing COM2. Simultaneously pressing the MIC2 and MIC1 buttons initiates Split-COM mode. When in Split-COM mode, the pilot is using COM1, the copilot is using COM2. MIC2- Selects the #2 transmitter for transmitting. (Talk on COM2, frequency turns “Green”) COM2 receive is simultaneously selected when this key is pressed allowing received audio from #2 COM receiver to be heard. COM 1 receive can be added by pressing COM1. Simultaneously pressing the MIC2 and MIC1 buttons initiates Split-COM mode. When in Split-COM mode, the pilot is using COM1, the copilot is using COM2. PLAY- Press once to play the latest recorded memory block. Press while audio is playing begins playing the previously recorded memory block. Each subsequent press thereafter plays the previous block of memory. Records up to 2.5 minutes of the selected COM radio signal. Playback can be muted by pressing MKR/MUTE AUX- When selected, audio from the AUX inputs can be heard. Used for when optional radios like an ADF or DME are installed. Up to three AUX inputs are available.

Controls PILOT- Controls the pilot intercom system. Press and hold to toggle 3D Audio on/off for all headset positions. An audio annunciation “3D audio left, 3D audio right” will occur when turned on. The pilot should hear both the “left” and “right” in the corresponding ear to verify proper function of the 3D Audio system. “3D audio off” annunciation will he heard when the feature is turned off. 3D Audio makes it easier for the pilot to listen to multiple audio sources at once. Press and hold to toggle copilot configuration between crew and passenger. An audio annunciation “Copilot configured as passenger” will be heard when copilot is grouped as passenger. The copilot isolation button will then be disabled as he/she is now grouped under the PASS button control. When COPLT is pressed and held again, “Copilot configured as crew” annunciation will be heard, followed by the ability to toggle copilot isolation on and off. PASS- Controls the passenger intercom system. Press and hold to enable/disable passenger muting during reception. Allows you to here radio calls from ATC clearly by auto muting passengers when a radio call is received. SPKR- Selects and deselects the cabin speaker. COM,NAV,AUX, and MKR receiver audio can be heard on the speaker. Press and hold 2 seconds for Passenger Address (PA). The SPKR key flashes during PA. When the pilot presses the Press to Talk (PTT) switch on the yoke the pilot will broadcast over the cabin speaker. The copilot can utilize the PA feature by entering split-com mode first.

Volume/Squelch- White Cursor Control Cursor(CRSR) Control Knob- Turn/twist outer knob to activate and then move the cursor (flashing white annunciator). White Cursor- Can be moved to any of the positions inside the white boxes marked above to change the volume of the audio from either telephone/entertainment, MUS1, and MUS2 or the intercom volume either PILOT, COPLT, PASS, and SPKR. XM radio volume can be controlled directly from the audio panel using MUS1 or MUS2. VOLUME (VOL) Control Knob- Once you select the appropriate audio source, in this case the telephone/entertainment jack, volume can be adjusted using the inner VOLUME (VOL) Control Knob. The volume indicator will display the volume level for the selected source. Cursor mode will automatically time out after a few seconds. If the pilot prefers, he/she could cancel curser mode by pressing the inner knob once (cursor will stop flashing).

Blue Select Mode Telephone/Entertainment Distribution- (Blue-Select Mode)- is used to distribute Telephone/Entertainment, MUS1, or MUS2 to either the PILOT, COPLT, or PASS. Blue Select Mode- To activate, press the inner knob once (if cursor is off) or twice (if cursor is currently on). A blue cursor will appear above Telephone/Entertainment. The outer knob can then be used to move the blue cursor to either Telephone/Entertainment, MUS1 or MUS2 (marked with blue box). PILOT, COPLT, or PASS can de selected (marked by blue annunciator) or deselected (no annunciator) to receive that particular audio source by pressing the corresponding button. In this demonstration Telephone/Entertainment is distributed to PILOT, COPLT, and PASS MUS1 is distributed to Pilot and COPLT, MUS2 is distributed to PASS only. Pressing the inner knob will cancel Blue-Select Mode, or after 10 seconds it will automatically cancel.

INTERCOM SYSTEM (ICS) Intercom System (ICS)- Includes a six position intercom system (ICS), two MUSIC inputs, and one telephone/entertainment input for the pilot, copilot, and passengers. The intercom provides Pilot, Copilot, and Passenger audio isolation. Press PILOT,COPLT, and/or PASS keys to distribute as required. If the annunciators are lit, those positions will share intercom audio. If the annunciator is NOT lit that position is isolated from the others.

All Intercom Mode In ‘All Intercom’ mode the Pilot, Copilot, and Passengers hear each other and the aircraft audio (COM 1in this case).

Pilot Isolate Mode In ‘Pilot Isolate’ mode the Pilot, Copilot, and Passengers hear the aircraft audio (COM 1). The Copilot and Passengers also hear each other.

Passenger/Crew Isolate Mode In ‘Passenger/Crew Isolate’ mode the Pilot and Copilot hear the aircraft audio (COM 1) and each other. The passengers hear each other

Copilot Isolate Mode In ‘Copilot Isolate’ mode the Pilot and Passenger hear the aircraft audio and each other. The Copilot has the option to use Split-COM mode.

All Isolate Mode In ‘All Isolate’ mode the Pilot hears the aircraft audio. The Copilot has the option to use Split-COM mode. The passengers hear each other.

Pilot & Copilot Isolate Mode In ‘Pilot & Copilot Isolate’ mode the Pilot and Passengers hear the aircraft audio. The Copilot has the option to use Spilt-COM mode.

Split Communications Mode Split Comm Mode- During Split COM operation, both the pilot and the copilot can transmit simultaneously over separate radios. In Split COM mode, the pilot is uses COM1 and the copilot is uses COM2. Pressing both MIC Keys simultaneously initiates Split COM Mode (i.e., MIC1/MIC2). The respective COM1/MIC1 or COM2/MIC2 annunciators are illuminated indicating Split COM operation. Split COM operation is cancelled by pressing one of the selected MIC Keys again. Pilot Copilot

Abnormal Operations Fail Safe Mode- If there is a failure of the Audio Panel, a fail-safe circuit connects the pilot’s headset and microphone directly to the COM1 transceiver. Audio is not available on the speaker during fail-safe operation. Stuck Microphone- If the push-to-talk (PTT) Key becomes stuck, the COM transmitter stops transmitting after 35 seconds of continuous operation. An alert appears on the PFD to advise the crew of a stuck microphone. The MIC Key Annunciator on the Audio Panel flashes as long as the PTT Key remains stuck.

Abnormal Operations Com Tuning Failure- In case of a COM system tuning failure, the emergency frequency (121.500 MHz) is automatically tuned in the radio in which the tuning failure occurred. Depending on the failure mode, a red X may appear on the frequency display.

Satellite Telephone & SMS Messaging The optional GSR 56 Iridium Transceiver provides airborne Iridium Satellite Telephone and SMS messaging service. The telephone audio is heard through the audio panel and headset using the telephone/entertainment key on the audio panel. Operation is accomplished through the AUX-AUXILIARY COMMUNICATIONS pages of the MFD.

Registering A subscriber account must be established prior to using the Iridium Satellite System. Before setting up an Iridium account, obtain the serial number of the Iridium Transceiver (GSR1) and the System ID by selecting the AUX- SYSTEM STATUS.
