Algebra 1 Section 1.7 Identify functions and their parts In a function the input may not be repeated. The set of inputs is called the domain. The set of outputs is called the range. A function is a rule that shows a relationship between two quantities called the input and the output.

Name the domain and range. Is it a function?

Functions can also be expressed as a rule or an equation. Make an input-output table for the function. y = 2x + 3 Use 1, 2, and 3 for the domain.
