Christmas in the UK is a bit shorter than in Poland, as it begins on December 25th. Christmas Eve is not celebrated the same like in Poland.

On December 24th British decorate their Christmas Trees On December 24th British decorate their Christmas Trees. Besides the Christmas Tree, they decorate their houses with bunches of holly. They believe that it protect from nasty elves

Everybody knows that Christmas is time of kissing under the mistletoe Everybody knows that Christmas is time of kissing under the mistletoe. However, few of them know that this tradition comes from Great Britain. The custom says that before kissing he or she should take a berry and give it to person who wants to kiss. When the bunch runs out of berries, kissing is over as well.

The traditional meal is the stuffed turkey and different green vegetables. There are other dishes such as sausages wrapped in bacon , cranberry, baked potatoes, brussels sprouts, chestnuts. For dessert the famous pudding is given which is poured custard or brandy.

Boxing Day in the United Kingdom is a day after Christmas Day and it is on December 26th. In the past, it was a day when employers gave money, food, clothes or other valuable goods to their employees. In modern times, it is an important day for sporting events and the beginning of the post-Christmas sales.
