Lets celebrate! Red Class Autumn 2015 Communication and Language Please encourage your child to read each day Red Class Autumn 2015 The children will be writing Christmas lists and responding to special letters from Father Christmas, asking the children for their help. Let’s talk together. Children will be practising their listening and taking turns in conversations. Fire works poems. Exploring new sounds and concentrating on using describing words. Rudolf is ill! Make him a card to make him feel better. ICT- My first creative picture. Using IPads, interactive whiteboard and cameras to create pictures. Phonics, So that’s how it sounds! Learning all 26 letter sounds and names. Singing the alphabet song! Reading the story The owl who is afraid of the dark! Exploring light, dark and shadows Communication and Language Literacy Understanding the World Physical Development Lets celebrate! Practising both fine motor and gross motor skills through a wide range of activities. Festivals of light: Exploring both Diwali & Christmas through art, literacy and language. RE Stories through movement Maths Personal, Social and Emotional Development Expressive arts and design Measures Asking children to find objects which are taller, bigger, shorter and smaller, Diwali How is Diwali celebrated? Retell the story of Diwali. Shape Explorers! What shapes can we find? What are 2D shapes? What are 3D shapes? Who can name some 2D and 3D shapes? Getting on and working together. Playing games which involve waiting and taking turns. Wrapping, Wrapping, Wrapping (using repeating patterns in role play) Father Christmas needs HELP! Father Christmas needs a workshop. The children will become Elves through role play. Counting: children will continue to practise the skill of counting from 0-50 and beyond! Christmas carols and songs. Performing on a stage. Christmas story, Discussing children’s questions about the Christmas story. Embedding the expectation of rules and routines in school. Lights, camera, Action! Children will make their own Christmas production costume.
