Word order

Statements 1 Subject + (frequency adverb) + verb + IO + DO Example: I often give you presents. Subject (frequency adverb) + verb + DO + “to” IO Example: I often give presents to you.

Statements 2 Complements :manner + place + time* Example: She studies hard at home every day. *The time complement can appear at the beginning of the sentence Every day She studies hard at home.

Questions 1 (wh- word) + auxiliary verb + subject + main verb + complements? Examples: Do you like coffee? What have we done? Where are you going? Who have they met?

Questions 2 Questions about the subject (wh- word) + verb + complements? Examples: Who has called? What happened? Which one won the competion?
