1. What are the challenges that CI researchers and practitioners face when they aim to mobilize resources for the development of a CI for a specific community? Resources & Services

1. What are the challenges that CI researchers and practitioners face when they aim to mobilize resources for the development of a CI for a specific community? Resources How do we convince researchers that this is a valuable investment? How do we generate and maintain data, knowledge & tools? How do we address concerns about privacy, security, validity, rights? How do we achieve interoperability, standardization?

How do we identify and find developers? How do we fund them? 1. What are the challenges that CI researchers and practitioners face when they aim to mobilize resources for the development of a CI for a specific community? Services How do we identify and find developers? How do we fund them? How do we identify relevant colleagues? How do we provide/enable communication among community members? How do we organize materials & communities, should they be centralized or distributed? Who are the different users? What are the needs of different users? How do we accommodate them?

How do we get different communities to trust each other? 2. What trust and incentive design issues exist? How do we get different communities to trust each other? developers & researchers researchers from different communities How do we give credit for non-traditional academic contributions? software contributions short think-pieces non-traditional publishing venues How do we create incentives for developers?

Create network map of our community 3. How can SNA help the community address these challenges? Create network map of our community Find relevant colleagues Networks derived from CI can be used to monitor and evaluate the functioning of CI Use of folksonomy in our work More widespread use of existing services such as CiteULike, Library Thing
