Interesting facts *The praying mantis helps farmers keep away bad bugs *There are 1,800 different species. *The different praying mantis species fight each other. *The mantis is related to the termite. *Female mantises sometimes eat there mate. *The word mantis comes from the Greek word Mantikon. *If you find one in a state, then you name it after the state, like California mantis.

Life cycle The Praying Mantis life cycle goes through simple metamorphosis. They start as an egg ,then nymphs, then adolescents, and finally become an adult.

Habitat The forest is their habitat . They live on all the contents except Antarctic.

diet They are carnivores. They eat: crickets, grasshoppers, spiders, frogs, lizards, and even small birds.
