Local Offer Review – May 2016 http://www.advocacymatters.co.uk/ Advocacy Matters conducted a workshop with a number of 6th form students at Wilson Stuart school and asked for their experience in using the Local Offer website.

Local Offer Review – May 2016 You Said……. To use google translate for families, young people who speak a variety of languages or where English is not their first language. Use video’ attached to different sections using subtitles or signers to ensure hearing impaired young people have access to the information. Also suggested audio versions of written information to allow young people with visually impairment have access to the relevant information. Throughout the websites signs/symbols could be used to make the website easy ready and accessible to all young people despite ability. Make the website look more appealing for young people – something exciting and inviting that would want to engage with and use.

Local Offer Review – May 2016 We Did ……. We have created a briefing note on how to use google translate on the website, this will help users where English is not their first language . We have created a video clips library using video links provided from parents and organisations and are looking at expanding this area with video’s for young people. Click Here We are looking at adding more pictures and symbols to the website pages to provide an better experience for the user. We are doing this by asking SENCO’s/YP at Schools on redesigning what to change on any of the Local Offer web pages. To see the full report from Advocacy Matters.
