2. Welcome Back to SchoolCNXT!
We are thrilled to have you back for another year with the SchoolCNXT community! Version 5.3 is here and we are excited to share with you some of the amazing new features you will see and some features you may have forgotten about since last year.

3. Explore
We have updated our “Explore” page to make it easier to find and message your students’ guardians!

We love hearing from you and understand that it is important for you to find your students’ guardians as easily as possible! Therefore, we have revamped our explore screen to do just that! School staff will now have a section of students who are in their groups (these will appear alphabetically). By tapping on a student’s name, you will have the ability to access their profile, invite them (if you are a HS using student accounts), or message their guardians. This keeps you from having to know their guardians’ names! If that doesn’t show up as an option, it means the guardians haven’t activated their accounts.
You will also have a section of your students’ guardians. This will allow you to scroll through or search for them directly. By tapping on their names, you will then be able to view their profiles, invite them, or message them.

4. Language Improvements
Set language settings when first downloading the app
Terms and phrases throughout the app are translated
Providing equity and breaking down barriers – including those related to language – are top priorities for SchoolCNXT. We have made a number of improvements throughout the app to make as accessible as possible for all users.
Users will now be prompted to change their language settings when they first download the app. This means that they do not need to go into their profiles to change it later. Also, for those who speak the languages listed below, the entire registration process will be in their native language:
Spanish
French
Chinese
Russian
Bengali
Arabic
Urdu
Korean
Haitian Creole
Italian
The app has now been localized into the languages listed below. This means the terms and phrases used throughout the app (ie, “password”, “close”, “do not disturb”, etc) will also be shown in the user’s native language. This will provide the most seamless and simple experience using the app for everyone!

5. Edit Group Member Permissions
Remember, you can determine who in your group can do what.
Allow certain members to:
Initiate a message to the group
Access management privileges (send invites, view member activity)
Create posts with or without your permission
You have control over the groups you own and how they work! You can change the permissions for each individual user for the following actions:
Initiating a message to the group
Sharing management access
Creating posts, either with or without your approval
These options are great if you co-teach or have a para-educator or parent volunteer! By default, however, all group members other than yourself will not be able to initiate a group message, share management access, or create posts.

Re-invite parents as needed
Log in to your SchoolCNXT accounts. Remember, unless you changed your contact information, you should be able to log in with your district-issued address. If you forget your password, just click the button to reset it! If you have never logged in before, you will receive an invitation via . We also strongly recommend that you download the mobile app if you haven’t already. This will make it easier and more convenient to post news and send messages. Then, post news – we can’t encourage this enough! While many of your families used SchoolCNXT last year, this will be new for some of them and it’s important that you welcome all parents to the SchoolCNXT community! Then, check out the SchoolCNXT calendar. This will give you great ideas about what you can post and message and how often most school staff are doing so. As the year continues, remember to check your activation rates and re-invite parents as you feel it is necessary! Lastly, with any questions!
