Presentation transcript:

The formation of the himalayas The formation of the Himalayas mountains Reeghan and Colton

We are presenting how the Himalaya mountains were created. The Himalaya mountains are in the middle of China and India. .The Eurasian plate is on the Chinese side of the mountains. .The Indian-Australian plate is on the Indian side of the mountains.

Plates: The outer earth that is dived into pieces around the earth. Vocabulary Tibetan Plateau is on the china side. Mountains: The Himalaya Mountains are the result of two plates colliding. The Indian-Australian is on the indian side of the mountains.

The Himalaya The Himalayas are formed by two plates colliding one called the Indian-Australian plate and the other Tibetan Plateau. The mountains were formed 40-50 million years ago because india floated off Australia and collided with Asia.

When they collided When the Australian and Tibetan plateau plates collided about 40-50 million years ago it formed the Himalaya mountains witch most people know mount Everest that is in the stretch of the Himalayas witch is 2,400 km long.

Conclusion I think mountains are a amazing land form. Made by two tectonic plates colliding. you should definitely visit the Himalayas. You can also get to see Mount Everest because it is part of the Himalayas Mountains.
