2. Different types of mountains. Folded- When 2 pieces of the Earth’s crust separates from the crust around it. Fault Block- When a huge block of rock separates from the rest of the Earth’s crust. Building Domes- When magma under the Earth’s crust pushes upward into softer rock there it cools and hardens. Volcanic Eruptions- When magma erupts through the crust. Then cools and hardens. Erosion- Formed when water, wind and ice wearing down spots in the land and moving it away.

3. Is the formation of mountains slow or fast??? The formation of mountains is a slow process because the tectonic plates have to collide and the plates only move 1 meter per year.

4. Do mountains ever change??? Yes, they do change because water, wind, and ice wears away the rock.
