Weekly Learning Goals/Objectives Week of August 18 Auxier Elementary Inspiring the Leader Within Weekly Learning Goals/Objectives Reading: Journeys Story: Lucia’s Neighborhood Essential Question: Who can you meet in the neighborhood? Writing: Writing complete sentences in a correct order with conventions. (5+ word sentence) Science: Eclipse (we will not be looking at this outside) Math: Using manipulatives to model addition Addition strategies Leader in Me: Introducing Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. A Note From Your Teacher… Homework Folders: Please keep the behavior calendar and decodable reader in the pocket every night. Listen to your child read the book several times until they can read it fluently. The book will be exchanged approximately 2 times a week for a new book. Sight Words: Please help your student practice his/her sight word list daily. Once he/she can read the list fluently by sight, please sign and return to school. Nonsense Words: Keep on practicing the nonsense words. A new list of nonsense words will be on the back of the Tic-Tac-Toe spelling menu. Students should be reading these words fluently!
