Digestive System By: Joshua Lynn

Mouth In our mouth there are a lot of things like Nasal Cavity, Opal Cavity, Jaw, Palate, Tongue, Pharynx, Epiglottis Larynx and opening into Pharynx and uvula without the mouth you will die because you can’t eat or drink.

Esophagus The esophagus is a muscular tube that is about twelve to nine inches long. The esophagus is the inside of your neck. When ever you eat something it goes down the esophagus and into the stomach.

stomach The stomach is located between the esophagus and small intestine. The stomach helps digest food you ate. The stomach is important without it you can’t eat.

Small Intestine It lies between the stomach and leads into the large intestine. The intestine absorp nutrients and spreads to the whole body. It extends 22 to 25ft.

Large Intestine The large intestine is larger than the small intestine. The large intestine takes all of the stuff that is not nutrients. When you have to go to the restroom you getting rid of the bad stuff for you. The large intestine is 5ft long.

Liver a large very vascular glandular organ of vertebrates that secretes bile and causes important changes in many of the substances contained in the blood. You cant feel the liver because it behind the rib cage

Appendix The appendix is a hollow tube attached to the large intestine.

Pancreas The pancreas is a organ that assist the absorption nutrients. The digestion is in the small intestine.

Gall Bladder The gall bladder is a muscular sac which bile is from the liver and stored lintel needed.

Enzymes any of numerous complex proteins that are produced by living cells and catalyze specific biochemical reactions at body temperatures.

Bile/ Bile Duct A duct is which bile is passed by to the liver then to the gall bladder.

Mucus Mucus a viscid slippery secretion that is usually rich in mucins and is produced by mucous membranes which it moistens and protects.

Chemical Digestion

Absorption The process of being absorped.

Mechanical Digestion

Salivary Amylase Of or relating to saliva or the glands that secrete it producing or carrying saliva. Mechanical and chemical digestion need work

Villi one of the minute finger-shaped processes of the mucous membrane of the small intestine that serve in the absorption of nutriment.

Gastric Juices A thin watery acid digestive fluid secreted by glands in the mucous membrane of the stomach.

Duodenum the first part of the small intestine extending from the pylorus to the jejunum.

Chyme the semifluid mass of partly digested food expelled by the stomach into the duodenum.
