They want to have freedom from oppression and abuse from the Israeli military. They want to be able to move about their land freely and visit their holy sites in Jerusalem.

What do Israelis believe? Jerusalem should remain unified within Israel's political control For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms CRAP!

What is the Palestinian and Israeli Conflict? Conflict is between two ethnic groups, Palestinians and Israelis Fighting over land they both claim as theirs Both of their religions promised the same land to them

When Did the Conflict Begin? Both groups have claimed the area for thousands of years The United Nations has been involved and will continue to work towards peace between the two nations.

How Did It Start? The modern conflict started when the United Nations agreed to divide the land they both claimed into two equal countries, a Palestinian one and an Israeli one. The plan went through, despite the protests from Palestine and much of the Muslim world However, today Israel controls all of the land, and there is not an official Palestinian state.

What Happened? The major conflict began when Israel was created in 1947. Israel took over the state of Palestine. The Israelis did not abide by the borders drawn by the U.N. and continued to push into the new Palestine.

Menachem Begin Born in Russia in 1913 Was the leader of an underground group (Irgun) fighting to make Israeli a Jewish state in 1944 He fought to remove British troops from Palestine Ordered the bombing of the British administrative and military headquarters at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem in 1946 Irgun claimed that their warnings to evacuate the headquarters were ignored

The First Intifada In December 1987 spontaneous outbreaks of violence towards Israeli soldiers broke out across the West Bank and Gaza Violent acts were committed due to false rumors spread by Muslim clerics Developed into a well-organized rebellion Civilians attacked with axes, stones, Molotov cocktails, grenades, and firearms Not well prepared to fight Israeli soldiers

The Wall Built in 2006 it separated families and increased conflict and oppression.
