What is U-Explore? U-Explore is a careers information tool. It allows YOU to explore learning and career options so you can make the right choices for the future. As you explore, you can build your profile of interests, aspirations, skills and qualifications which you can use to develop your personal statement and CV.

Using the Search Function You can change what to search by: job, subject, qualification, skill or interests. Results will show: all jobs related to your search, video clips, 360 virtual tours, business profiles and suggested qualifications.

Job Profiles – What can you find out? Job role, Money and Perks, Hours and Conditions, Skills and Qualities, Qualifications

Qualifications and Pathways Find out lots of information about GCSE’s, A Levels and many more qualifications.

My Options Click into‘My Options’. Go to ‘All My Options’ and find a range of qualification types. You can find out for each qualification: what you will learn, how you will be assessed, what you need to do to get a good grade, what you can do next including a sample of careers you could go into.

The information page tells you what you would do, what you might earn, hours, what skills and qualifications you will need, what ICT you might use and some useful tips.

Work Experience On the ‘Work Experience’ Wall. You can find all the information you need to have a successful Work experience Placement. Look at Interview Skills and how to make a good impression.

Preparation for work On the homepage, select Work Preparation to find lots of useful information on writing a CV, applying for a job and interview skills. There are also video clips in the mentor bank to explain how to apply for a job, including what to wear. There is a useful case study which shows two people interviewing for the same job; you can watch and compare their interviews.

CV Builder Complete the 7 sections on the builder… and Click Export. Your CV will be created in Word.

Skills Log You can record your personal learning and thinking skills under the PLTS log and Enterprise Skills Log The information you enter will contribute to your personal profile on U-Explore and your CV. Learn from these logs what employers, colleges and universities are looking for and how to demonstrate you have these skills.

Your Profile ‘Like’ any jobs and qualifications you are interested in. These will save into your very own user profile, which you can revisit at any time.
