Waller Bulldog Football 2003-2004 Offense

Offensive Philosophy Run the option out of multiple formations. Throw the ball out of multiple formations. Spread the field Control the tempo with no-huddle and huddle capabilities. Approximately 65% run and 35% pass.

Huddle Alignment Y Z F H X RT RG C LG LT QB BALL

SNAP COUNT We have two live snap counts, “move” and “down”. “Move” is first sound and “down” is second sound. No huddle: The QB will approach the line of scrimmage, call the play number, and say “set”. He then has four options of alerting the offense to the snap count. “Green, Green” = Go

INLAW AND OUTLAW CALL 5 3 1 4 O O O X O O O O 5 3 1 4 O O O X O O O O The left tackle would have an outlaw call b/c the DE is outside of him. The right tackle would have an inlaw call because the DE is head up to inside of him.

GAP SEAL / OVER /SCOOP/ DOUBLE GAP SEAL: Talks to backside tackle. He must take a flat step hard to the inside then pivot to his outside. This will be used on 14-15 and 10-11 only. This helps keep the backside DE off the QB. OVER: Center is coming over to help the guard on a double team (will happen vs. a 1 or 2 tech.) SCOOP: Guard is coming to scoop to help the center. This will happen vs. a nose. DOUBLE: Guard and tackle double the three tech with an outlaw call or double the four tech on an inlaw call. LOOP – tells the playside tackle to loop around the end and block playside LB…Loop call is off if guard calls a “loose” or tackle has two dudes with an inlaw.

ZONE AND 1-DUDE / 2-DUDE RULE ZONE – All linemen take a hard step to play side and try to cut off the man in front of the them. 1-DUDE – if the play-side tackle has only “1-DUDE” head up to outside of him, he makes his in-law / outlaw call and zones with the guard. 2 – DUDE – if the play-side tackle has “2-DUDES” head-up to outside of him and an “outlaw call”, the outlaw becomes an in-law call and he MUST zone the guy closest to him.

LEAD AND CTR. LEAD RULES Play side guard has 1st down lineman, tackle has 2nd down lineman. Full back has inside LB. Center scoops with back side guard vs. 50 or works to back side LB against 8 call. NO GAP SEAL on this play. CTR. LEAD – FB goes opposite and Z blocks inside LB.

7 AND 8 CALL WITH SAFETY ALIGNMENT 7 CALL : Center will make this call when he has one man stacked on him (nose or mike linebacker). 8 CALL: Center will make this call when he has no one or two men stacked on him. (Split defensive tackles or a nose and a mike). SAFETY ALIGNMENT: A seven call and two safeties means the defense is balanced. An eight call and one safety means the defense is balanced. If the defense is unbalanced, the weak-side option can be run.
