PS Booster Hardware Tests & Cold Check-out planning 16th of March 2017 EYETS 2016-2017 PSB and PS & TT2 Facilities Follow-up meeting PS Booster Hardware Tests & Cold Check-out planning 16th of March 2017 Abdel AKROH & Bettina MIKULEC BE-OP-PSB Recommissioning Coordinators

Hardware test preparation 3 weeks + 1week beam commissioning One PSB operator is available in the CCC from 6h to 21h from 20/03 to 07/04 to ensure support for the Hardware tests and Dry-runs/Cold check-out. No operator during week-end and night until 10/04. Patrol of the machine on 20/03AM then DSO tests HW permit on 22/03PM. DSO tests for BEAM permit on 10/04 (if needed). New online checklist will be used as from this year. Abdel Akroh / BE-OP-PSB

Hardware test preparation Critical systems: TE-ABT: We will have to test all the KFA controls following the problem that occurred during EYETS. BE-RF: All the low level RF system will have to be re-tested because many cables have been touched/broken/removed. BE-BI: BTMS new electronics; In addition BBQ system because cables have been removed between BAT and BOR. Some BTVs have to be retested (Cable removed and some of other cables not working correctly) BE-CO+BE-OP: Oasis signal commissioning (delayed by 2 weeks -> Repowering and Decondamnation). TE-MPE: From 13/03 to 17/03 -> WIC Software upgrade delayed because of Repowering task. Prerequisites: All Eqp Groups: CONTROLS AVAILABLE and tested if possible because of repowering. BE-OP: PSB Patrol will be done on Monday 20/03 at 8:30. Abdel Akroh / BE-OP-PSB

Hardware tests planning proposition Week 12 (20/03 to 24/03): OP starts working on online checklist from CCC. In parallel still some planned machine accesses: Monday: PSB Hardware Patrol - no access; TE-MSC remove grounding; TE-ABT unlock all the kickers and septa and BE-RF tests (water/ventilation/tube exchange) the rest of the day. Tuesday: BE-RF tests continue; TE-ABT hydraulic verification on septa; Wednesday: TE-ABT Audio patrol; BE-SU DSO tests PSB (HW permit) all the afternoon Thursday: TE-MSC magnets polarity check + interlock BTP.QNO10 check and main magnets audio patrol, so TE-MSC all the afternoon with possible parallel access except from 16:30 to 17:30 (Special permit). Pre-requisite: confirmation from TE-EPC that all power converters are available + WIC OK. Friday: TE-MPE + BE-OP WIC test between CCC and booster building. Abdel Akroh / BE-OP-PSB

Hardware tests planning proposition Week 13 (27/03 to 31/03) OP continue working on online checklist from CCC. Special tests: Monday: TE-MSC /!\ B-Train upgrade finish /!\ Wednesday: TE-MSC + BE-OP B-Train test; BE-BI + BE-OP Dry runs of the DCBCTs + BTVs + transfer lines BCTs from CCC Monday to Thursday: BE-BI + BE-OP BTMS commissioning (Interface/Applications/FESA Server/ChannelNames/Timings…) from CCC Week 14 (03/04 to 07/04) –> yet to be defined Week 15 (10/04 to 14/04) Monday: BE-SU DSO tests PSB-PS-SWY-TT2 (BEAM permit if still needed) Abdel Akroh / BE-OP-PSB

Hardware test period general remarks PLEASE sign-up for an IMPACT intervention period named : “Operation-2017-PSB” /!\ We hope that equipment specialists could already start testing their installations, if not we STRONGLY recommend them to start ASAP and inform us about the readiness of their systems /!\ Abdel Akroh / BE-OP-PSB

Cold Checkout “parallel” planning 3 weeks for the PSB Cold check-out Cold checkout tests organised by OP: Complete missing tests Includes follow-up of HW test period 3 shifts per day including week-end from 10/04. Tests with equipment experts for systems requiring beam (Beam Instrumentation) Abdel Akroh / BE-OP-PSB

THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION! Thanks to everybody for the shutdown work, also particular thanks for the well organised decabling/cabling campaign - we are looking forward to continue the good collaboration during the HW test period!
