On most commonly means “we”. It can also mean “people” and “they”. You will use the word on a great deal in French, for example: On parle français en France. On most commonly means “we”. It can also mean “people” and “they”.

You can also use on to make suggestions about doing something: On regarde un film? Let’s watch a movie. (Are we going to watch a movie?) On écoute la radio? Shall we listen to the radio? You can also use on to make suggestions about doing something:

With on, you use the same form of the verb as you do with il & elle. Il parle français avec le prof. On parle français au Canada. With on, you use the same form of the verb as you do with il & elle.
